On April 16, the School of Science held a luncheon and Infinite Mile Award ceremony to honor staff members and postdoc fellows and affiliates whose accomplishments far exceed their typical assigned roles and duties.
Since the Infinite Mile Award program was established in 2001, the School of Science has presented the awards to approximately 300 of its members, all of them nominated by their supervisors, department heads, and lab directors for their outstanding work. The Infinite K award was added in 2012 to highlight and reward the extraordinary work of the school’s postdoc fellows and affiliates.
This year’s Infinite Mile honorees are:
- Abhishek Banerjee, a postdoc fellow at the Picower Institute for Learning and Memory
- Carol Breen, a communications officer in the Department of Physics
- Meghan Devaney, senior financial officer in the Department of Chemistry
- Peter Dourmashkin, a senior lecturer in the Department of Physics
- Pia Handsom, an administrative officer in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences
- Michele Harris, human resources coordinator in the Department of Chemistry
- Barbara Peskin, an academic administrator in the Department of Mathematics
- Michael Richard, an administrative officer in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences
This year’s Infinite K honorees are:
- Susana dos Santos Correia, a research scientist at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research
- Robert Komorowski, a postdoc fellow at the Picower Institute for Learning and Memory
- Kevin Schlaufman, a postdoc fellow at the MIT Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research
- Sebastian Will, a postdoc fellow in the Department of Physics
- Victoria Wyslouch, a postdoc associate in the Laboratory for Nuclear Sciences
