On Thursday, May 17, the MIT community is invited to gather for a celebration picnic in honor of President Susan Hockfield, who announced on Feb. 16 that she would step down as MIT's 16th president. Hockfield has served as president since December 2004 and will continue to serve until the next president takes office.
The picnic will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Killian Court; all faculty, staff and students are invited for food and fun and a chance to say thank you to Dr. Hockfield for her leadership of MIT.
Questions about the event may be directed to the Office of Institute Events.
