Let the nominating begin: Awards Convocation nomination deadline is March 12

Nominations for MIT's annual Awards Convocation are being accepted now through Friday, March 12.

Encompassing more than 30 awards across many areas and departments, the Awards Convocation honors those — including students, faculty and staff — who have made special contributions to the life of the MIT community. The winners will be announced during the convocation, which will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, in 10-250.

To nominate students, faculty, staff, and other MIT community members, follow these easy steps:
  1. Read the award descriptions online at http://web.mit.edu/awards.
  2. Write a letter of nomination, describing why the nominee is worthy of the award.
  3. Send letters of nomination to the MIT Awards Committee by e-mail to awards@mit.edu (attachments preferred) or by mail to Room W32-135. Deadline for nominations is Friday, March 12, 2010.
For more information, and to browse the awards descriptions and previous recipients, see http://web.mit.edu/awards.
