Members of the community are invited to share their perspective about MIT at meetings convened as part of the Institute's 10-year accreditation. The sessions, which will be hosted by a member of a visiting evaluation team, are designed to solicit thoughtful and candid feedback on issues of importance to different segments of the community. There will be different meetings designated for faculty, students, and staff who wish to share their views. The schedule includes the following:
The first part of the accreditation process was completed this summer with the submission of a self-study report. More than 150 MIT faculty, staff, and students contributed to our self-evaluation to help the Institute better understand its strengths and opportunities. The final report is available at http://web.mit.edu/accreditation/.
The second part of the accreditation process includes an evaluation visit by a 10-person team. A member of the team will host each of the sessions, and senior members of MIT's administration are requested not to attend. Participants may come and go as they please — they do not have to stay for the full hour — and light refreshments will be served.
- Student Session: Monday, Oct. 5, 5 p.m.-6 p.m., Room 32-141
- Staff Session: Monday, Oct. 5, 5 p.m.-6 p.m., Room 32-155
- Faculty Session: Tuesday, Oct. 6, 4 p.m.-5 p.m., Room 3-133
