A record 830 MIT students, including 600 freshmen, volunteered at 44 community agencies in Cambridge and Boston on Aug. 29 as part of the 12th annual CityDays Festival sponsored by the MIT Public Service Center. At the National Braille Press in the Fenway, students collated, folded and bound books for the blind, among them Dr. Seuss' "Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?" That group of volunteers consisted of freshmen Holly Owens, Sadie Wachter, Dan Schultz, Elizabeth Canavan-Palermo and Chad Lieberman, sophomore Somin Lee, senior Douglas Quattrochi, and Anthony Reinen (above) of the Class of 2003.
