A number of MIT startups including Scale AI and Alto Pharmacy have named to CNBC’s Disruptor 50 list, “which highlights private companies that are chasing some of the market’s biggest opportunities and growing despite a tough capital markets environment and slowing economy.” CNBC explains that: “Many of the Disruptor 50 companies have a social or environmental purpose that is core to their business model, including climate change, sustainable development, health care, financial inequities, and an inefficient global supply chain.”

MIT also “led the pack of undergraduate engineering programs in which a doctorate is the highest degree offered,” and was also “recognized for its undergraduate business program, coming in at No. 2,” writes Larson.

MIT was ranked first in the Forbes 2022 top colleges ranking, reports Emma Whitford and Caroline Howard for Forbes. “Forbes’ top colleges ranking spotlights schools that offer an excellent education at a great price, graduate high-earners and propel students to become successful entrepreneurs and influential leaders in their fields,” they write. “The Massachusetts Institute of Technology—ranked number one for the first time this year—accomplishes all of this and more.”
