Health and wellness at MIT just got a little bit easier with the launch of MIT Recreation’s redesigned website. The website includes a sleek, responsive design and key features that provide quick access to popular resources such as the Aquatics Schedule and Facility Hours, both displayed on the homepage. A dynamic Group Exercise Schedule allows users to easily view classes, instructors, and descriptions while the Instructional Programs Filter places all classes in one catalogue grouped by age (adult and youth) and class type (American Red Cross, aquatics, fitness, ice skating, and squash).

Perhaps the most exciting addition to the new MIT Recreation website is the health and wellness blog. Users will benefit from a wide range of topics that not only span aquatics and fitness, but also dive into stress-management and what the department calls “RecSperience.” As a unique service for the MIT community, the Department of Recreation connects with members and guests who consistency demonstrate the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle, and RecSperience is a way for those stories to be shared to inspire others. MIT Recreation plans to explore creative ways to serve the community with this new platform, counting on key contributions from their team of recreation professionals and community of students, members, and guests.
Overall, there has been a positive response since the site went live, proving that the seven-month redesign project has paid off with the ultimate goal of seamlessly providing detailed and accurate information in a way that is both visually appealing and user-friendly.
