The MIT Forum for Supply Chain Innovation has announced that Cyrus Wadia, the assistant director for clean energy and materials R&D at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, will deliver the keynote at its June 24 conference, "Technology and the Industrial Internet.” This one-day executive conference, in partnership with the Accenture and MIT Alliance in Business Analytics, will discuss the impact, challenges, and opportunities of advanced technologies and the Industrial Internet.
Wadia’s keynote, “The Materials Genome Initiative — Scaling Clean Energy Production,” will discuss the Obama administration’s efforts to spur innovation in advanced materials. The keynote will also introduce and describe the design and launch of the Materials Genome Initiative, an effort launched by President Barack Obama in 2011 that has already mobilized more than $300 million and 60 institutions across the country to address the long timeframes for incorporating advanced materials into practice.
General Electric's chief economist, Marco Annunziata, will also present at the conference and discuss how technology is transforming the industrial sector. Additional speakers will be from Accenture, Cisco, P&G, and C3 Energy.
