In September 2009, IS&T and the Department of Facilities launched a new MIT Campus Map
based on the Google Maps engine. Now the MIT Campus Map Team has
released an update that incorporates community feedback since the
launch. This update includes a refined user interface and addresses
several commonly asked questions in the Campus Map FAQ.
Some examples of refinements include:
- Thumbnail images have been built into info balloons.
Example: http://whereis.mit.edu/go/10
- The search results pane now slides out, so instructions are always visible.
Example: http://whereis.mit.edu/?q=cafe+lobby+7
- Clicking on the map creates custom purple markers, which are listed in the results pane as well.
Example: http://whereis.mit.edu/?q=cafe+lobby+7&go=5
The MIT Campus Map Team invites you to explore the updated map and send them email if you have feedback or questions.
