IAP 2010: Experience Creativity in Teaching and Learning

IAP, MIT’s special four-week term, begins on Jan. 4 and ends Jan. 29. IAP provides the MIT community with a welcome break from the academic routine of fall and spring semesters. Students, faculty and staff can participate in hundreds of offerings that embody creativity in teaching and learning. Past IAP for–credit subjects include “Language and Mind” in the Brain and Cognitive Sciences Department, intensive elementary study of European languages, and “The ART and Science of Boat Design” in Mechanical Engineering. Non-credit activities ranged from “Advanced Gentoo Linux” and “Battle of the Brownies” to the famous “Charm School,” which helped participants learn to pitch a business strategy as well as pick up the right fork at a fancy banquet. IAP brings together an innovative spirit and a fusion of fun and learning. You can view the 2010 offerings and find out how to participate on the IAP web site at http://web.mit.edu/iap/participate/index.html.
