Building N10
Approximately 10 parking spots will be eliminated in Lot N10 for up to eight weeks to allow installation of large underground chilled-water pipes. This will start shortly after the attendant's booth and two to three trees are removed this week (the trees will be replaced after the pipes are installed). The lot's traffic pattern also will be changed. Tenants will be relocated elsewhere on campus starting in late May.
Brain and cognitive sciences project
Demolition of Building 45 is scheduled to begin this week. The entrance to the Albany Garage will close this week; traffic will be rerouted to a new entrance via the N10 annex lot. Trailers are now being installed between Building 44 and the railroad tracks. Removal of an abandoned steam pile from the Vassar Street sidewalk will begin soon and continue for two weeks.
Stata Center
Carbon filters have been installed in Building 36 air intakes. Detention pond and landscape work is under way between the Alumni Pool and buildings 56 and 16. Odor and dust control is in effect. The Alumni Pool is closed until February.
Vassar Streetscape
Installation of concrete sidewalks along the south side of Vassar Street may cause minor traffic and pedestrian delays. Trees removed as part of the new security/landscape enhancement project near buildings 39, 13, 31 and 24 will be replaced with new trees, and landscaping, irrigation, teak benches, new lighting and sidewalks also will be added. Traffic at the Building 39 entrance will experience delays or lane shifts as work on the new entrance from Vassar Street continues.
Memorial Drive
The MDC will hold a public meeting on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. in the Brown living room at McCormick Hall to discuss the proposed landscape design of the park area that is part of this project.
Building 48
