Seven invention ideas won awards at the second annual IDEAS Competition for innovations that help the community. The contest, sponsored by the Edgerton Center and the Public Service Center, had 19 final entries and seven winners. One-third of each team's members must be MIT students. Prizes sponsored by the Lemelson-MIT program, Boeing and the IDEAS competition ranged from $2,000 to $5,000.
