Starting Friday, Dec. 6, employees can buy discounted tickets and museum passes from the MIT Activities Committee (MITAC) at CopyTech's main center in Room 11-004 one day a week. MITAC will offer sales in CopyTech from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Friday through January.
Tickets will still be available at MITAC's Walker Memorial location (Room 50-005) on Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Lincoln Lab (Room B-210) on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"We're delighted that we now have a box office conveniently located for employees on the center of campus," said Ted Johnson, associate director of the Information Center and director of Community Services. "While current plans are to remain at CopyTech through January, we'll be carefully monitoring ticket sales in the new location to determine if there's a need for a continued MITAC presence on the main part of campus."
MITAC is a nonprofit service that has served the cultural and recreational needs of MIT and Lincoln Lab employees since 1983. The committee meets monthly during the academic year to plan special events, such as New York City shopping sprees, a Cinderella's Ball and whale-watching excursions, that are of interest to MIT employees and their families. In addition to discounted movie tickets and museum passes, MITAC sells discounted tickets to sporting events, exhibitions, circuses, and theater and musical performances.
A listing of current events and discounts can be found in the MITAC monthly flyer, mailed to all employees on campus and at Lincoln Laboratory, or online.
