"AA Bronson: Mirror Mirror," continuing at the List Visual Arts Center through March 31, was called by the Boston Herald's Mary Sherman "less an art show than a meditation on life, loss and perseverance" (Feb. 17). The Boston Globe's Cate McQuaid wrote, "The show is strong, even brazen, in its unerring challenge to the viewer to face not only mortality but also the cruelty that humans inflict on one another ... It works well not simply because it confronts, but because Bronson provides us, through his reflections, flashbacks, dreams, and hopes, with a soft place to fall." (Feb. 22)

Mark your calendars. In February 2003, Music and Theater Arts Lecturer Elena Ruehr's "Toussaint Before the Spirits" will receive its world premiere in Boston's new biennial opera festival, Opera Unlimited. Ruehr's tale of the hero of the slave rebellion in French Haiti is one of five contemporary operas to be performed Feb. 6-11, 2003 at Massachusetts College of Art's Tower Auditorium.
