Project manager Ron Catella of Facilities (lower photo) examines damage to the facade below the Great Dome. He did a close-up inspection with the help of one of the largest cranes on the East Coast (top photo), which was brought to the crosswalk at 77 Massachusetts Avenue last Thursday. The diamond-shaped object in the lower photo is an iron anchor that rusted and swelled, causing the stone in front to pop off. Workers will cut a matching piece of limestone and install it sometime this summer.
