Carmon Cunningham, a former executive with the Digital Equipment Corporation, has been appointed director of alumni/ae relations at the Sloan School of Management.
In his 14-year career at DEC, Cunningham held a variety of positions in account management, marketing and strategic planning. Most recently, he served as strategic alliance marketing manager and business development manager for world-wide joint venture relationships in the area of electronic design automation.
Prior to working at DEC, he was a sales executive at the Xerox Corporation. He holds the MBA degree from Boston University and the BS in economics from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR.
"I am confident that Carmon Cunningham's demonstrated business acumen and wealth of experience in industry will serve us well in the crucial arena of alumni relations," said Dean Glen L. Urban in announcing the appointment. As director of alumni relations, Mr. Cunningham is filling the position vacated recently by Lawrence Abeln, who was appointed director of the master's degree program in January. Mr. Cunningham's goal will be to maintain Sloan's strong ties to the graduates of its various programs. In addition, he will lead efforts to explore entirely new and innovative ways to forge mutually beneficial links between the School and its extended international community of alumni/ae.
